Greetings!! My name is jaden bowen.

I am a recent graduate of Florida A&M University, where I received my bachelor of science in broadcast journalism in May 2024.

I am originally from Broward County, Florida, where I currently work and reside. I was most recently employed at an ABC affiliate news station in West Palm Beach (WPBF 25 news). Under the fred young fellowship with hearst television, i produced and co-produced for various shows 5 days a week. I mainly co-produced WPBF 25 news mornings at 9 a.m. as well as weekends at 5 a.m., 6 a.m., and 8 a.m.

While my interest in journalism stems from my high school years, where I served in many editorial positions within our SCHOOL yearbook, my passion FOR JOURNALISM was not TRULY discovered until college. At FAMU, I was an editorial staff member of a student-led award-winning magazine publication at Famu, Journey Magazine, where i accelerated my abilities and made many contributions to producing various content for the student body. I was also a member of the FAMU chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ/FABJ) and the vice president of the FAMU chapter of The Society for Professional Journalists (SPJ).

Alongside my extracurriculars, I have several published articles under my belt, and I am very fortunate and grateful that my dedication has not gone unnoticed. IN 2023, I was awarded the Disney Storytellers Fund at FAMU, where I, by way of the decision of the FAMU School of Journalism and Graphic Communication Committee, was selected as a part of the 18-STUDENT cohort to be given specialized programming, curated experiences and a full-time summer 2023 internship opportunity with ABC News' broadcasting program: Impact x Nightline.

This internship fueled my interest in producing, and I was able to exercise that interest on campus through FAMU's live newscast, FAMU TV News 20, where i served as the producer for the Monday newscast at 5 p.m. That experienced helped with my trajectory into the industry post-college.

As a journalist, I want to tell the stories of the people and give their voices an outlet to be showcased properly within the media. I intend to push barriers in the media and PROVIDE the OUTLET to represent my community, my background, and myself.
